Andrei Kuzmenko

Andrei Kuzmenko

29-Year-Old Left WingLW
Philadelphia Flyers
2024 Fantasy Outlook
After racking up 74 points in 81 regular-season contests as a rookie, Kuzmenko was hampered by a sophomore slump with just 46 points in 72 outings with the Canucks and Flames last year. If the elite skating winger can return to being a 70-point producer, he won't be long for a third-line role and figures to challenge Anthony Mantha and Blake Coleman for more minutes. Even if the 28-year-old Kuzmenko does start the 2024-25 campaign in a middle-six capacity, he should still get plenty of opportunities with the man advantage - possibly even suiting up with the No. 1 unit. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, Kuzmenko's assignment could be a continuously changing role throughout the season. Read Past Outlooks

Earns assist in team debut
LWPhiladelphia Flyers
February 9, 2025
Kuzmenko logged an assist in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
Kuzmenko saw 18:53 of ice time in his Flyers debut and may be in line for a larger role with his new team than he was with the Flames. The 29-year-old winger has 16 points, 40 shots on net and a minus-8 rating over 38 appearances this season. If Kuzmenko sees top-six minutes regularly and doesn't clash with head coach John Tortorella too much, he could be an interesting offense-only addition in fantasy for the remainder of the season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Kuzmenko's first NHL campaign was a rousing success with a major caveat. He produced 39 goals and 35 assists, but he also shot 27.3 percent for the year, a mark that even the most elite of snipers can't sustain for long periods. He'll have every chance to replicate his success in 2023-24, but few players have redder flags for regression than the 27-year-old. The good news is that Kuzmenko's shot is still his best asset, and he has a legitimate shot at exceeding the 60-point milestone this season. Even still, fantasy managers should be cautioned against drafting him as a top-50 option. He's got virtually no physicality, so he'll have to keep his offense up to maintain his value.
The most highly-sought-after undrafted player in this year's cycle, Kuzmenko signed a one-year, $950K deal with Vancouver in June. He recently completed his seventh and most effective KHL season, posting 20 goals and 53 points for 45 games for SKA St. Petersburg. The scouting report on Kuzmenko is that he has great hands and is excellent on the power play, with his main drawback being a lack of breakaway speed. Expect the Canucks to give him a significant role from the start, making him an intriguing late-round fantasy pick in all formats. Kuzmenko will again be eligible for unrestricted free agency in the summer of 2023.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might be traded to Philadelphia
LWCalgary Flames
January 30, 2025
Kuzmenko, who was scratched from Thursday's clash against Anaheim, might be involved in a trade involving the Flyers, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
ANALYSIS
Kuzmenko has struggled with the Flames this season, contributing just four goals and 15 points in 37 appearances. That coupled with his $5.5 million cap hit makes any potential return via a trade likely to be small. Still, Kuzmenko did have 39 goals and 74 points in 81 outings with Vancouver in 2022-23. He did see a substantial decline last campaign but still was a decent middle-six option with 22 goals and 46 points, so perhaps he can be productive under the right circumstances with Philadelphia. This is also the final season of his two-year contract, so the risk in acquiring him is low so long as the Flames aren't expecting much in return.
