Givani Smith News: Signs with KHL club

Smith agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Shanghai Dragons (KHL) on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Smith was limited to just 25 games with AHL Chicago last season due to injury, producing two goals and three assists when healthy. At this point, the 28-year-old winger will be hard-pressed to make his way back to the NHL, and he could play out his career overseas or in the minors.
