Barkey scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Capitals.
Barkey has two goals and an assist over his last four contests. The 20-year-old is listed in a top-six role, but he hasn't seen more than 15 minutes of ice time since Jan. 29 versus the Bruins. That suggests he's functionally more of a middle-six option, though his recent scoring success could earn him more minutes. For the season, Barkey has five goals, nine assists, 39 shots on net, 37 hits, 19 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a minus-9 rating over 37 appearances in his rookie year.
