2026 Fantasy Outlook
Finau was simply not himself this past season and there's a chance that was a result of his off-season knee surgery at the end of 2024. He started the 2025 season as he normally would, but there are no injury reports in golf, so we have no idea how he was actually feeling the entire season. His earnings dropped so dramatically in 2025, an injury is the most likely excuse. Athletes rarely blame poor performance on injuries, so even if Finau didn't use that as an excuse, it's safe to say that he wasn't physically right all season. With that in mind, if he gets back to anything close to 100 percent in 2026, he should crush his 2025 numbers. As such, Finau is almost a must-have enterting this season as he's bound to play much better this season than he did this past season. Read Past Outlooks
T6 at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson
Finau posted a bogey-free, six-under 65 in the final round of THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson to finish tied with Zach Bauchou and Tom Hoge for sixth.
ANALYSIS
Finau's best round of the tournament was his bogey-free, eight-under 63 on Friday that included three-straight birdies over the final three holes. Given that it was a low-scoring event, Finau's two-under 69 score Saturday dropped him out of serious contention for his seventh PGA Tour win. However, he did enough Sunday to jump six spots up the leaderboard for his best finish of the 2026 season and his best performance since his T5 at The Genesis Invitational in February of 2025. Finau finished the tournament third in both GIR and SG: Off-the-Tee, fourth in driving distance, T5 in birdies made and in the top-20 in both SG: Approach and Around-the-Green. Finau is in the field for the Charles Schwab Challenge next week, where he finished T17 in his last outing in 2024 and has made the cut in eight of nine previous appearances, including T4 in 2022 and solo second in 2019.

While it was the worst putting season of Finau's career since he's been on the PGA Tour, it was hard to not be impressed with the rest of his game. Finau ranked second in SG: Approach and 12th in SG: Around-the-Green. That resulted in a lot of consistent results, finishing inside the top-25 15 times, including nine of his final ten starts. Much of that terrible putting came earlier in the season. Around the time he clicked off three straight top-10s at the Memorial, the U.S. Open and the Travelers, Finau was in the mix of a strong stretch on the greens in which he gained in six in a row. The 35-year-old is never going to have the greatest putting numbers, but as long as it's just decent he's going to be in a lot of tournaments given how good his approach play has been over the last few years.
