2026 Fantasy Outlook
The first thing that jumps off the page for Im in 2025 was how poor his iron play was. He ranked outside the top 160 on Tour in SG: Approach, GIR percentage and proximity. It's hard to find a lot of consistent results when that is the case. Iron play may have never been the staple of Im's game, but it certainly had not been anywhere close to this poor at any other point in his career. The good news is that he made the best of a bad situation by ranking second in SG: Around-the-Green, and also drove the ball very well. The majority of Im's earnings in 2025 came from three top-5 finishes at The Senty, the Farmers Insurance Open and The Masters. He did miss eight cuts, however, the most in a season for him since his rookie campaign in 2018-19. Top-5 finish at Quail Hollow
Im posted an 11-under cumulative score at the Truist Championship to finish tied with Tommy Fleetwood and J.J. Spaun for fifth.
ANALYSIS
Im opened the tournament with scores of 64-69 and entered the weekend at the top of the leaderboard. He couldn't maintain his top spot over the final two rounds but managed to keep himself in the mix before going two-over across his final four holes of the tournament. Im ranked fourth in both SG: Around-the-Green and scrambling, seventh in both GIR and SG: Off-the-Tee and 15th in SG: Putting. It was the second top-5 finish of the season for Im, with the first taking place at the Valspar Championship in mid-March. He's in the field for the PGA Championship, where he's missed the cut in five of seven outings (including in each of the last three years).

Im has been the model of consistency at just 26 years of age. He is coming off his sixth straight TOUR Championship appearance and continued to flex his strength all the way through the bag. The South Korean has not lost strokes in any category since the 2020-21 campaign when he was 142nd in SG: Around-the-Green. Im went through some major struggles at the beginning of 2024 with his iron play, losing strokes on approach in eight of ten starts. He would only post two top-25s in that stretch to go along with four missed cuts. After that point Im closed the FedExCup season gaining strokes on approach in 11 of 14 starts and posting 10 top-12 finishes in that stretch. He is more than due to find the winner's circle in 2025 for the first time on the PGA Tour since the Shriners Children's Open in 2021.
