2026 Fantasy Outlook
The first thing that jumps off the page for Im in 2025 was how poor his iron play was. He ranked outside the top 160 on Tour in SG: Approach, GIR percentage and proximity. It's hard to find a lot of consistent results when that is the case. Iron play may have never been the staple of Im's game, but it certainly had not been anywhere close to this poor at any other point in his career. The good news is that he made the best of a bad situation by ranking second in SG: Around-the-Green, and also drove the ball very well. The majority of Im's earnings in 2025 came from three top-5 finishes at The Senty, the Farmers Insurance Open and The Masters. He did miss eight cuts, however, the most in a season for him since his rookie campaign in 2018-19. Im opened the tournament with a three-under 67 score Thursday that included back-to-back birdies on holes 16 and 17, but it was a free fall down the leaderboard over the next three days, going two-over par in that span. He ranked T9 in driving accuracy and 11th in SG: Around-the-Green, but he lost 3.74 strokes on the green (69th in SG: Putting) and ranked near the bottom of the field in SG: Off-the-Tee, driving distance, birdies made and GIR. Im made his 2026 debut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational after missing time due to a wrist injury and has gone MC-MC-T4-T60 in four Tour outings. The next time Im will tee off is at The Masters starting April 9. He's enjoyed success at Augusta National with three top-10 finishes in six appearances, including T2 in 2020 and T5 last year.

Im has been the model of consistency at just 26 years of age. He is coming off his sixth straight TOUR Championship appearance and continued to flex his strength all the way through the bag. The South Korean has not lost strokes in any category since the 2020-21 campaign when he was 142nd in SG: Around-the-Green. Im went through some major struggles at the beginning of 2024 with his iron play, losing strokes on approach in eight of ten starts. He would only post two top-25s in that stretch to go along with four missed cuts. After that point Im closed the FedExCup season gaining strokes on approach in 11 of 14 starts and posting 10 top-12 finishes in that stretch. He is more than due to find the winner's circle in 2025 for the first time on the PGA Tour since the Shriners Children's Open in 2021.
