2026 Fantasy Outlook
Kim has been the model of consistency on the PGA Tour since joining in 2016. Though he doesn't play quite as much as he used to, he's still good for 25+ events each season, often nearning 30 by year's end. Kim posted wins in each of his first two years on tour and while he hasn't won as much over the past eight seasons, the production remains at a high level. The only concern with Kim is that his numbers have been trending down over the past two seasons. He's earned around $4 million in each of those seasons, but that's a drop from over $5 million in 2023. Kim was missing the high-end finishes this past season, but his top-25s reached a career high with 14 in 2025. As long as he keeps giving himself a chance to win, the high-end finishes should come back. As such, he makes for an interesting salary cap candidate this season. Read Past Outlooks
Fails to maintain lead at CJ CUP
Kim posted a 27-under cumulative score at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson to finish tied as the runner-up to Wyndham Clark by three strokes.
ANALYSIS
Kim made his big move up the leaderboard Friday with an 11-under 60 score with 12 birdies, with his lone blemish being a bogey on the par-4 18th. He slowed down Saturday with a three-under 68 that included three bogeys from holes eight to 11, but he still entered Sunday with a two-stroke lead over Scottie Scheffler and Clark. Kim played well in the final round and was six-under through 14 holes. However, he scored pars on each of the final four holes, which was simply not enough for him to keep up with the red-hot Clark, who carded an 11-under 60 to capture the fourth PGA Tour event of his career. It was unfortunate to see Kim come up short, as he's still searching for his fifth PGA Tour win and first since the 2023 Sony Open in Hawaii. He led the field in Texas with 33 birdies made while ranking second in driving accuracy, fourth in SG: Putting, sixth in SG: Around-the-Green and eighth in SG: Off-the-Tee. Kim is not listed in the field for next week's Charles Schwab Challenge but will likely tee off at the Memorial Tournament in two weeks time.

Kim was consistent last season going 22-for-25 with 12 top-25 finishes, but he only had three top-10 finishes, down from the five he had in 2022-23. There's certainly a lot to like with Kim's game ranking top-20 in driving accuracy and SG: Approach. He has also always had a great short game, but putting remains an issue. Kim was 140th in SG: Putting in 2024 and has never had a season where he's finished inside the top-100 in that category. Kim's ball-striking will give him a pretty safe floor, but he needs more good putting weeks if he wants to rack up more high finishes and get closer to some of the top players in earnings.
