Shocking playoff loss in Singapore
Lee lost to Bryson DeChambeau on the first playoff hole at LIV Golf Singapore.
ANALYSIS
It was a heartbreaking loss for the 35-year-old Canadian, who was on track to become the first Wild Card player in league history to win a LIV Golf Tournament. He entered Sunday one stroke behind Lee Westwood and Joaquin Niemann, but Lee surged in the final round with a five-under 66 that included four birdies over the last six holes. That was enough to put Lee at the top of the leaderboard, but DeChambeau forced a playoff after birdying the par-5 18th. DeChambeau was able to go up-and-down for par on the first playoff hole despite finding the water with his tee shot, but it looked like Lee was going to seal the deal after his third shot found the green. Lee's 10-foot birdie putt missed to the left, but a second playoff hole did not come to pass after his par putt lipped out, handing DeChambeau the shocking victory. A heartbreaking way to lose a tournament; nevertheless, Lee has finished in the top-20 in three of the first four LIV events of the season and sits seventh in the individual standings with 147.05 points. He'll look to shake off the disappointing loss next week at LIV Golf South Africa.
