2026 Fantasy Outlook
It was a tale of two seasons for Thorbjornsen, who began 2025 by missing 6-of-9 cuts with a best finish of T39. He turned the corner thereafter, seriously contending with four top-5 finishes as he continues to improve heading into his third season. The 2024 PGA Tour University ranking leader will be a popular breakout candidate for 2026 when you consider his pedigree and age (24), on top of being one of the longest players on Tour. If there's something to nitpick, he's only been an average putter and is a poor bunker player. Even so, the ball striking makes him stand out as a player that can take a big leap next season. Fades again in final round
March 29, 2026
Thorbjornsen faded to a share of 14th place on Sunday with his two-over 72 in the final round of the Texas Children's Houston Open.
ANALYSIS
Thorbjornsen came into the week in 56th in the OWGR and needing a strong showing in Houston in order to crack the Top 50 and secure his spot in The Masters. He was well on the way to doing that, but it was another Sunday that did not go as planned for the Stanford product. Thorbjornsen carded just three birdies on Sunday against three bogeys and a double-bogey. He lost 11 places on the leaderboard from where he began the day. Had Thorbjornsen held position, he likely would have been headed to Augusta. The same could have been said for his collapse on Sunday at THE PLAYERS where he was in the final group but finished in T22. Thorbjornsen is an incredible talent, but clearly there is still something he needs to figure out about closing tournaments. He will be in the field for the Valero Texas Open where he will need a victory to get into The Masters.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Thorbjornsen is fully exempt for the 2025 season after topping the 2024 PGA Tour University Rankings. Following a standout senior season at Stanford, Thorbjornsen would take his talents the the PGA Tour and make 11 starts to close the year. While there was some expected inconsistency, Thorbjornsen showed he has the talent to compete at the highest level racking up a T2 at the John Deere Classic before finishing 2024 with a pair of T8 finishes in his last three starts. While he didn't have enough starts to be eligible, he would have ranked top-five on Tour last season in driving distance and in the top-10 in GIR percentage. Thorbjornsen has also proved to be a strong putter gaining strokes on the greens in his last five starts in 2024. While the talent is very exciting, expectations need to be properly managed as a full season on the PGA Tour is quite the grind for a young player.
