2026 Fantasy Outlook
Clanton earned his card via the PGA Tour University Accelerated program after making the cut at the Cognizant Classic last March. He was the second player ever hit the necessary 20 points to claim a PGA Tour card since this program has been put in place. Clanton flashed a lot of potential in late 2024 which included four top-10 finishes, two of which were runner-ups. 2025 was a bit more of a struggle on the PGA Tour for Clanton with zero top-10s and just two top-25s in 18 starts. The Florida State product felt the grind of the PGA Tour over the second half of the year and that hopefully will help him as he embarks on a full season starting in 2026. Jumps into top-5 in Puerto Rico
Clanton finished the Puerto Rico Open with a four-under 68 in the final round to finish tied with Paul Peterson and Matti Schmid for fifth.
ANALYSIS
Clanton saved his best round for last, with his final round highlighted by his eagle on the par-5 11th hole. He ranked near the bottom of the field in driving distance and was middle-of-the-pack in birdies made, but he limited his mistakes to just three bogeys (tied for second best) while finishing T8 in scrambling, T15 in driving accuracy and T24 in GIR. It was an encouraging performance out of Clanton after missing the cut in each of his first four Tour events of the season (including a withdrawal from The American Express in January due to an illness). He is currently not listed in the field for THE PLAYERS Championship next week.
