2026 Fantasy Outlook
Herbert locked his spot in the 2026 LIV Golf season after finishing 15th in the individual season standings in 2025. All of his hard work came in the first half of the season, when he accrued points in six of the first seven LIV Golf tournaments, with his T2 finish in Mexico City highlighted by his 10-under final round. However, Herbert wasn’t able to maintain that momentum the rest of the way, finishing 30th or worse in five of the final six events of the season. Much of Herbert’s struggles came with his accuracy off the tee (54.82 percent driving accuracy - 41st) and in his approach game (T41 with a 62.92 percent GIR), but fixing those issues would make him a regular contender given his putting proficiency (1.55 putts per hole - T3). The Australian failed to make the cut at The Open Championship and will have to earn his way into each of the four major tournaments in 2026 through qualifying events or strong play in the LIV Golf league. Wire-to-wire win in Virginia
Herbert posted a 24-under cumulative score at LIV Golf Virginia to win the tournament by four strokes over Sergio Garcia.
ANALYSIS
Herbert entered the weekend with the tournament comfortably in hand after going 17-under over the first two days of the tournament, including a bogey-free, nine-under 63 score Friday. He cooled down over the final two days and looked a little shaky Sunday, but the lead he built for himself was more than enough to hold off the rest of the field. It was the first LIV Golf victory in Herbert's career, and more importantly, it was enough for him to surpass Thomas Detry for third in the individual standings, earning Herbert a spot at the U.S. Open Championship in June. The LIV Golf circuit will resume May 28 at Asiad Country Club in Busan, South Korea.

Herbert and nine other players -- including Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and Adrian Meronk -- were newcomers to the LIV Golf league in 2024, with Herbert joining the all-Australian Ripper GC just days before the first tournament in Mayakoba in February. Herbert finished T6 in three of the last six LIV Golf tournaments of the season (Houston, Greenbrier and Chicago), but he finished just outside the Lock Zone at 25th in the individual season standings. While Herbet was one of the best putters in the league in 2024, he was near the bottom of the field in both driving accuracy and GIR, two areas he’ll need to improve on in 2025. Herbert’s only major outing in 2024 was the PGA Championship (received a special invitation), and he managed to finish T43. He is not guaranteed to be in the field for any of the four majors in 2025.
