2026 Fantasy Outlook
The Torque GC captain came in with plenty to prove in 2025 after the LIV Golf Individual Championship slipped through his fingers and into the hands of Jon Rahm in 2024. The 2025 LIV Golf season was hot and cold for Niemann; on the one hand, the Torque GC captain held the season lead for most of the year with five tournament wins, four of which came through the first eight tournaments. On the other hand, he wasn’t able to accrue enough points in the other events to maintain his lead, and for a second straight year, he finished second in the individual season standings to Rahm. Niemann’s struggles in the majors continued in 2025 with two missed cuts (U.S. Open and The Open Championship) while finishing T29 at The Masters, but his T8 finish at the PGA Championship was his first top-10 finish at a major championship. Given his success in LIV, Niemann will likely be in the field for all four majors in 2026, and he’ll join DeChambeau as the top contenders to stop Rahm’s three-peat efforts in the breakaway tour. Inconsistent final round at Aronimink
Niemann registered a one-over 71 in the final round of the PGA Championship to finished tied for 18th.
ANALYSIS
Niemann made his move Saturday with a four-under 66 score and opened the final round with back-to-back birdies. However, he proceeded to go two-over across the final 16 holes, and his bogey at the par-3 17th was particularly brutal, as it knocked Niemann out of the top-15 of the leaderboard, thus not earning him an automatic exemption to the 2027 PGA Championship. He led the field at Aronimink in GIR and finished second in SG: Off-the-Tee, T9 in driving accuracy and 10th in SG: Approach, though he was ultimately sunk by his performance on and around the green, finishing 68th and 69th in SG: Putting and Around-the-Green, respectively. Niemann hasn't been as dominant in LIV Golf this season as he was in both 2024 and 2025, finishing as the season-long runner-up behind Jon Rahm in both years. Luckily for Niemann, his play in 2025 was enough for him to earn a spot at this year's U.S. Open Championship. He'll use LIV Golf Korea and LIV Golf Andalucia as his tune-up events before teeing off at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on June 18.

The 2024 LIV Golf Individual Championship seemed to be in Niemann’s pocket after the 25-year-old Chilean won two of the first three tournaments of the season (Mayakoba and Jeddah). He was at the top of the individual season standings for most of the season, but he couldn’t hold onto his seemingly insurmountable lead as league newcomer and Legion XIII captain Jon Rahm swooped in to win the Individual Championship. It was a disappointing finish to what was otherwise a successful LIV Golf season for Niemann, who finished first in birdies and eagles per round, second in GIR and driving distance, eighth in putting average, and 14th in scrambling. Niemann managed to make the cut in all three of his major appearances in 2024 (T22 at The Masters, T39 at the PGA Championship and T58 at The Open). He figures to be a dark horse contender for his first major victory should he earn a spot in those events.
