Du Plessis surged to the top of the leaderboard thanks to his eight-under 62 third round that included five consecutive birdies from holes 10 to 14. He carried that momentum into the final round, opening with a four-under front nine to enter the turn in pole position. However, that lead quickly evaporated after bogeys on the 12th and 15th holes, followed by a double bogey on the par-3 16th. It was an incredibly disappointing finish for Du Plessis, who is still in search of his first victory on the DP World Tour. Still, he's finished in the top-5 in each of his last three tournaments and sits ninth in the Race to Dubai Rankings. Du Plessis is not listed in the field for the Hainan Classic in China in two weeks.
