2026 Fantasy Outlook
English picked up his fifth career win early in the season at the Farmers Insurance Open, but what was even more impressive was his performance in the majors. English finished runner-up to Scottie Scheffler at both the PGA Championship and The Open Championship. He also added a T12 at The Masters. English has clearly proven that he has the game to take on the most difficult tests in golf and find success. That said, he was outside the top 30 in SG: Total in 2025, which doesn't really line up all that well with where he finished the season on the earnings list. English has a high ceiling given his ability to pop with the putter, but ranking outside the top 100 in SG: Approach does put his floor in question. Read Past Outlooks
Share of fourth at Harbour Town
English posted a two-under 69 during the final round of the RBC Heritage to finish tied with Ludvig Aberg and Collin Morikawa for fourth.
ANALYSIS
The opening rounds at Harbour Town had relatively calm weather conditions, resulting in lower scoring rounds across the field. That was the case for English, who carded a bogey-free, seven-under 64 in the opening round before his three-under score Friday. He was near the top of the leaderboard heading into the weekend but gained just three strokes over the final two rounds. It was still enough for English's first top-5 finish of the 2026 season, and it was his best performance since his solo second at The Open Championship in July. He was the second-best putter in the field at the RBC Heritage, gaining 5.97 strokes on the green while ranking T5 in bogeys made, T6 in scrambling, T12 in birdies made and in the top-25 in GIR and SG: Around-the-Green. English won't tee off at the Zurich Classic next week but should be in the field in the next Signature Event, the Cadillac Championship, which starts April 30.

If not for injuries, the narrative around English would be much different. English was a solid player on the PGA Tour over his first five seasons, but then injuries started creeping up, and his game suffered for the next three seasons. He got his game back in 2020 and he parlayed that into his best season on tour in 2021, when he earned over $6 million. He had another setback in 2022, but like he does, he bounced back again and posted a great 2023 season. He played well in 2024, but didn't quite resemble the guy from 2023 or 2021. English is just 35 years-old, so he shouldn't be fading just yet. The question is, can he stay healthy? It's a bit of a risk, but his upside warrants a look this year in salary cap leagues.
