Chacarra won the event last year, and the young Spaniard was well on his way to going back-to-back after posting scores of 67-69-70 over the first three days of the tournament. He entered Sunday with a four-stroke lead, but that cushion quickly vanished on the back nine after Chacarra posted three consecutive bogeys from holes 15 to 17. That was enough for Fitzpatrick to surge into the lead, and the Englishman had built a large enough lead that a double bogey on the par-5 18th didn't come back to bite him. It was a disappointing finish for Chacarra, but on the surface it was an encouraging bounce-back performance after he finished T117-T41-T81-T70 in his four DP World Tour appearances prior to the Hero Indian Open. He finished the tournament ranked third in SG: Approach, fourth in SG: Tee-to-Green and in the top-10 in birdies made and driving accuracy.
