2026 Fantasy Outlook
Cole was unable to carry the momentum from his first two years on Tour into 2025, finishing 76th on the points list despite being qualified for all of the Signature Events. He played a busy schedule once again, teeing-it-up in 32+ events for a third consecutive year, but his four top-10s all came in lesser tiered events. The main problem for Cole is that he's a poor driver of the ball, ranking outside the top 130 in distance and accuracy. His ceiling is capped as a result, even if he does a good job making up for it with the other aspects of the game. Read Past Outlooks
T39 after barely making cut at JDC
July 5, 2026
Cole carded a bogey-free, six-under 65 in the final round of the John Deere Classic to finish tied for 39th.
ANALYSIS
Cole was one of the few top-50 players in the FedExCup Standings to tee off at TPC Deere Run, but it looked like he wasn't going to make the cut after opening the tournament with a five-over 76. However, he rebounded spectacularly with an eight-under 63 in the second round, with his eagle on the par-5 17th being enough for him to make the three-under cut line. He jumped 25 spots up the leaderboard Sunday thanks to his performance in the final round, but Cole will look for more consistency at the Genesis Scottish Open next week.

2023
Cole got out of the gate extremely fast during his rookie season of 2023 and he rarely slowed down through the entire year on his way to capturing ROY honors. With four top-3s and over $5 million in earnings, the bar was set awfully high entering his second season, and while he failed to match his rookie numbers, he still fared pretty well. Cole couldn't find those high-end finishes in 2024, but he did manage five top-10s on his way to over $3 million in earnings. There's little doubt that Cole is going to be a mainstay on the PGA Tour for a while, but the question is -- will he ascend to the next level? It's hard to say this early, but looking solely at his salary cap prospects, he looks like a solid play this season.
Cole's rookie season didn't start off strongly, with missed cuts in his first four outings and no top-25 finishes in his initial 10 starts. However, a runner-up finish at the Honda Classic provided a much-needed boost. Ultimately, he concluded the season just shy of the top-30. Cole achieved this with several high-end finishes, but it was primarily his consistent performance that enabled him to earn over $5 million. Notably, he had a streak of making 14 consecutive cuts from June through October, positioning him well for a promising sophomore year. The downside, however, is that his impressive debut has set expectations too high for consideration in salary cap leagues this season.
Cole paced the Korn Ferry Tour in putts per round while ranking second in putting average and third in Birdie or Better conversion percentage throughout the 2022 season, but his concerning ball-striking metrics indicate a potentially difficult transition to the PGA Tour level. Nonetheless, he tied for the third at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship to earn his card for the 2022-23 campaign. He's made three previous appearances on the PGA Tour, including a top-25 finish at the 2021 Corales Championship.
