2026 Fantasy Outlook
Riley has spent four seasons on the PGA Tour and he's yet to finish outside the top 75 on the FedEx list at season's end. Riley was a grinder his first two seasons on the PGA Tour, playing in 29 and 35 events. After winning in May of 2024, his pace slowed and his game fell off a bit, resulting in reduced production. Getting that first win on the PGA Tour can have that effect sometimes as it's easy to take your foot off the gas when you know your card is secured for two years. With the two-year expemption expiring, he'll have to shift his mindset this year and get back to the grind. With that in mind, he should play more often, resulting in a more lucrative season. As such, Riley appears to be a good salary cap option this season. Read Past Outlooks
Struggles off tee in Houston
Riley posted a one-under cumulative score at the Texas Children's Houston Open to finish tied for 60th.
ANALYSIS
Despite a two-over 72 opening round, Riley rallied Friday with a five-under 65 score that included birdies on each of his last three holes of the day. He couldn't carry that momentum into the weekend and ended the tournament with a three-over 73 score Sunday, which included a triple bogey on the par-3 seventh. Riley was middle-of-the-pack in SG: Around-the-Green and SG: Putting but finished outside the top-60 in SG: Approach and lost 3.20 strokes with his driver (67th) while also ranking T71 in driving accuracy. Since opening the season with a T6 at the Sony Open, Riley has finished T42 or worse in each of his last eight tournaments, including five missed cuts. That's not the kind of form you want to bring into Augusta National, which is the next time Riley will tee off. It'll be his second appearance at The Masters, having finished T21 in his debut in 2025.

2020
Riley came out of the gates hot during his rookie season in 2022. He posted six top-10s on his way to over $3 million in earnings. He finished that season inside the top-30 and the future appeared to be very bright. The past couple years haven't quite panned out like many had thought, however, as he's regressed in each of the past two seasons. The odd thing is, he actually picked up his first PGA Tour win this past season, but his overall numbers were well off the pace he'd set in 2022. The reason was, after his win in May, his game fell off considerably. There was a reason for that, however, as he was dealing with the loss of his friend Grayson Murray and the impending surgery of his sister to remove a brain tumor. It's completely understandable that after securing a win and his card for 2025, that he'd let golf slip to the side for a while. It's always risky to assume a golfer will get back to who he was before trauma, but Riley had a lot going for him in 2022 and 2023. In this case, an assumption that he gets back to something between his level in 2024 and his rookie year seems pretty safe.
