ANALYSIS
The Spaniard was six-over through 27 holes, but he brought himself down to two-under and one stroke off the cut line after birdies on the 11th and 13th holes and an eagle on the 14th in the second round. However, he was unable to gain the stroke he needed over the final four holes, ultimately ending Friday with a one-over 71 score. Ayora will head back to the DP World Tour, where he's enjoyed a solid season with five top-10 finishes and three top-5s, most recently a solo fifth at the Open d'Italia in late June. He's 22nd in the Race to Dubai Rankings, and those who finish the season in the top-10 will earn a PGA Tour membership for 2027 (unless otherwise exempt).
