Ortiz did most of his work in the second with an eight-under 62 score that included seven birdies on his front nine. He took the clubhouse lead after a one-under 69 in the third round, highlighted by his ace on the par-3 sixth hole. Ortiz wasn't at his best Sunday, going five-over through the first 11 holes with two double bogeys, but he managed to turn things around with back-to-back birdies on the last two holes. That was enough to force a playoff with Steelman, which Ortiz won with a birdie thanks to his approach shot that landed six feet from the hole. It was Ortiz's first victory on the Korn Ferry Tour and first top-5 finish since his solo second at the Memorial Health Championship in June of 2025. In fact, Ortiz entered the week with just one top-30 finish across 11 tournaments, including four missed cuts. He's in the field for the BMW Charity Pro-Am next week.
