The Jets released Koo on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Koo inked with New York in late May but appears to have struggled during his brief stint at OTAs, and the team has now signed a replacement option in Jason Sanders to compete with Cade York (groin). Across six regular-season appearances between the Giants and Falcons in 2025, Koo converted six of nine field-goal attempts and 13 of 14 extra-point tries. He will now search for a chance to compete elsewhere during the offseason.

Koo made at least 86.5 percent of field-goal attempts in each of his first five seasons with the Falcons, before nosediving to 73.5 percent last year and then missing the final three weeks with a hip injury. He has two seasons remaining on his contract, but no guaranteed money, perhaps opening the door for competition. Koo will turn 31 in August, still prime age for a kicker, and his excellent track record before 2024 would make it easier to find a new home if the Falcons eventually move on. If he stays in Atlanta, he'll be kicking in a dome again, and potentially for a good team if QB Michael Penix turns out any good.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Outkicks Krieg while York sits
Koo had the edge among the Jets' kickers in OTAs on Thursday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Koo signed with the Jets earlier in the week and made a strong impression at OTAs on Thursday, converting all three of his field-goal attempts in windy conditions. Lenny Krieg went just 2-for-4 on his attempts Thursday, while Cade York sat out due to a groin injury. Koo has made only 31 of 43 field-goal attempts over the past two regular seasons for a 72 percent conversion rate but still has an impressive career field-goal conversion rate of 85 percent, so he has a chance to win the Jets' kicking competition against York and Krieg.
