2026 Fantasy Outlook
Guyton enters the offseason facing competition for Dallas' starting left tackle job after a difficult start to his NFL career. The 2024 first-round pick struggled as a rookie and was limited by knee and ankle injuries in 2025. Read Past Outlooks
Competing for starting job
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Thursday that Guyton (ankle) is competing with 2024 seventh-rounder Nathan Thomas for the job of starting left tackle, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not clear what level of danger there is that he could actually cede his starting role to Thomas, but it's good news for Guyton that he no longer seems to be hindered by the ankle injury that landed him on IR at the end of last season. Unless Thomas totally dazzles Dallas' coaches in the coming months, Guyton should be expected to be the one protecting Dak Prescott's blindside in 2026.

2024
Guyton had some real rookie struggles, grading out 57th out of 58 left tackle qualifiers by PFF, and he battled a high-ankle sprain late in the season. The Cowboys are committed to giving the 29th overall pick in the 2024 Draft every chance to prove he can be their left tackle of the present and future, but another rough campaign could force the team to look elsewhere for Dak Prescott's blind-side protector.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Ready to step up in second year
Guyton has had a strong offseason and is expected to improve in his second NFL campaign, Todd Archer of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Guyton was forced into an immediate starting role at left tackle as a rookie and looked overmatched for long stretches. He showed some progress as the season went on, particularly in pass protection, and has reportedly worked out at the team's facility this offseason and improved his diet. The Cowboys have either proven or high-pedigree options along their entire offensive line, but Guyton's ability to translate his strong offseason to the field will be a key to the unit's success.
