The Commanders and Davis agreed to terms on a contract Monday, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Davis provides Washington with an experienced cornerback to help replace the void left by Kendall Fuller, who recently inked a deal with the Dolphins. The 29-year-old is coming off a mixed 2023 campaign in which he was benched at multiple points and allowed a career-high 13.8 yards per completion and 9.0 yards per target, as Rhim notes. He could compete for starting snaps with Benjamin St-Juste, while 2023 first-round pick Emmanuel Forbes will likely get another crack at a No. 1 role.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2021
Davis began the 2022 season as a reserve option, but a season-ending injury to J.C. Jackson in Week 7 forced the lanky corner back into a starting role. The multi-year starter seemed to shake off the coverage issues that were prevalent in past campaigns and turned in a more complete season, ultimately leading the team in pass breakups. Davis, Jackson and Asante Samuel figure to be the team's obvious starting trio of corners with the former two occupying roles on the outside.
Davis parlayed a career year into a lucrative three-year, $25 million extension with the Chargers this offseason, and the team promptly moved on from stalwart corner Casey Hayward opening the door for Davis to operate as the team's top option opposite Chris Harris. The 26-year-old isn't known as a great cover option, but Davis is able to keep receivers in front of him which leads to a decent number of tackles.
