2026 Fantasy Outlook
While York didn't make a regular-season appearance in 2025, he may now get a chance to compete with Jason Sanders for the Jets' placekicker job. York lasted just one season as the Browns' kicker after they took him in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but it looks like the Jets will give York a chance to revive his career this summer. York (groin) has not been able to participate in OTAs this week, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear if the issue is serious and will require York to miss time beyond this week, though it likely contributed to New York's recent signing of Younghoe Koo, according to Cimini. York signed a one-year deal with the Jets in March after not seeing any regular-season action in 2025.

2022
York was the lone kicker on Washington's roster as of late August, after the Browns traded him to the Commanders for a conditional seventh-round pick. He struggled in 2022 as rookie fourth-round pick in Cleveland, but it looks like York will get a second chance after bouncing around the league in 2023.
A fourth-round pick last year, York converted only 75 percent of FGAs as a rookie, including three misses from inside 40 yards. He got another chance this summer, but the Browns finally moved on in late August after a rough preseason, waiving York and trading for veteran Dustin Hopkins.
The Browns made York the first kicker selected in the 2022 Draft, taking him in the fourth round. York was a reliable three-year starter at LSU, converting 81.8 percent of field-goal attempts and 97.6 percent of extra-point tries, and he has a strong leg, making 15 from 50-plus yards. The rookie could be fantasy relevant out of the gate if the Browns' remade offense features a better passing game than last year's version.

Could lose job after Week 1 misses
KWashington Commanders
September 8, 2024
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said "I think we'll have a good talk about that" when asked whether the team will bring in another kicker after Cade York missed both of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Buccaneers, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
York's attempts came from 47 and 56 yards, so he didn't exactly miss chip shots, and he made both of his PAT attempts. Nonetheless, he's on a short leash moving forward, even if York gets an opportunity at redemption Week 2 against the Giants.
