Vera-Tucker has struggled to stay healthy since being picked 14th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, missing 25 games through four seasons while suffering season-ending triceps and Achilles injuries in 2022 and 2023, respectively. He's penciled in as the starter at right guard, but AVT has filled in effectively at tackle when called upon to do so.

Potential trade target
Vera-Tucker is likely to draw trade interest, Eric Williams of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Vera-Tucker suffered a season-ending biceps injury during practice leading up to Week 1 of the 2025 season. He's currently on the final year of his rookie contract, and Williams suggests the Jets won't re-sign him due to a combination of his injury history and the team's status as a rebuilding franchise. The timing of when the Jets prefer picks could ultimately dictate how they move on from Vera-Tucker, as they'd almost certainly receive compensatory picks if he departs in free agency at the close of the campaign, but those selections would come in 2027.
