ANALYSIS
On the heels of recording a 85-1,013-4 receiving line (on 102 targets) in 17 regular-season games during his lone campaign with the Patriots, the team -- as previously reported -- elected to part ways with Diggs for salary cap reasons. Since then, Romeo Doubs has been added by New England, while Diggs is now free to sign elsewhere. In the right spot, Diggs should have an opportunity to yield solid fantasy production in 2026, but it remains to be seen what the market will be for the 32-year-old wideout.

Diggs suffered an ACL tear in late October, one month before his 31st birthday, yet still did reasonably well in free agency with a three-year, $63.5 million contract. It's a lot of money for a player who was already in decline before the severe injury, although only 26 percent ($16.6 million) is guaranteed at signing. Diggs averaged 5.9 catches and 8.0 targets per game during his abbreviated 2024 season in Houston, but with his fewest yards per game (62.0) since 2017 and his lowest marks since 2018 for yards per catch (10.6) and aDOT (8.3). He was never a top YAC threat even in his prime, and the combination of already-waning speed and a late-career knee surgery suggest Diggs won't do much damage on deep balls moving forward. The good news is that there should be plenty of short and intermediate targets for the taking if he comes back at something like 90 percent of his pre-injury form, as the Patriots otherwise have one of the league's least-accomplished WR rooms to support aspiring franchise quarterback Drake Maye.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Exiting New England
Diggs will be released by the Patriots at the start of the new league year, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Diggs put together a solid 2025 season in New England while helping the Patriots to a dramatic year-over-year turnaround, recording 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns on 102 targets across 17 regular-season games. Diggs added a 14-110-1 line on 20 targets over his team's four-game postseason run, but with his cap charge set to balloon to $26.5 million next season and a $6 million roster bonus set to kick in at the end of next week, a termination of the current contract was virtually inevitable.
