Gasly finished 10th in the Australian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Albert Park Circuit on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The Alpine F1 veteran would get underway from P14 on the starting grid after a subpar qualifying effort. Gasly would avoid a slow-starting Liam Lawson and also pick off some spots to ride P9 by the close of lap 1. That good start at the lights out would anchor him into good midfield track position that would hold up the rest of the day. Gasly would pit under the lap 11 VSC and take on hard tyres for a super long second stint. He'd lose a spot late to Gabriel Bortoletto and cross the finish line a respectable P10.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
One of the more interesting driver moves in the midfield comes as Gasly makes the switch from Alpha Tauri to Alpine. Gasly entered Formula One in 2017 and has had stints at Toro Rosso, as well as the primary Red Bull team. His move to Alpine takes him out of the Red Bull structure and gives him an opportunity to start with a fresh slate. Alpine finishing fourth in last season's Constructor's standings compared to Alpha Tauri's ninth is also a nice attraction for him. Gasly said he is approaching his start with Alpine differently from his first outings with Red Bull and has a much clearer view of what he needs to be competitive, which he hopes will help him finish higher in the order. He finished in the top 10 six times last season and only tallied three DNFs. This season's opportunity with a faster car under the new rules package should be a boost for him early in 2023.
