P4 at Albert Park
Hamilton finished fourth in the Australian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Albert Park Circuit on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hamilton got off to a great start at the lights out as he would promote from P7 to P3 on the opening lap. He would be in close contact with the leader, 1-second back, in those opening minutes of the grand prix. A lap 11 safety car for the disabled Isack Hadjar would present an opportunity to pit under the VSC, but Ferrari would keep both their drivers out until much later. Hamilton would later pit on lap 28 and take on hards to make it a one-stop race. He would lock onto the rear wing of Charles Leclerc and ride the second stint all the way to the finish in P4. It was a good start to the season but teased so much more potential for the Ferrari star.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
After a rough start to his 2022 season, Hamilton found more challenge in competing with his teammate than the Red Bulls last year, going without a single win for the first time since joining Formula One despite finishing on the podium a total of nine times. The Mercedes engineers were hard at work attempting to fix an aero issue on Hamilton's W13 for most of the season, and the driver of the No. 44 claims that the bouncing of the car served as a major roadblock between the Brit and finishing first-place. Regardless, last year was Hamilton's first year finishing behind his teammate in the points (Lewis coming in sixth, with George Russell finishing fourth) since the same happened in 2016 with Nico Rosberg. The 2023 season will be a big year for Hamilton if he wants to make another push for the world title, with a championship run only possible if Mercedes is able to provide a car without the previous season's detrimental issues.
