Contact with George Russell
Hamilton finished fourth in the Belgian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit on Sunday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
To say that Hamilton's Belgian Grand Prix was chaotic would be an understatement. He would get into a lap 1 tangle with George Russell that would see the Mercedes veteran go sliding into the gravel. Hamilton would be tagged with a 5-second penalty for that contact. He would later strike a Ferrari teammate with his right front tyre during a pit stop due to a communications error. Despite all these headwinds and a damaged car, Hamilton would persevere to overtake Oscar PIastri late and secure a strong P4 finish at Spa.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
After a rough start to his 2022 season, Hamilton found more challenge in competing with his teammate than the Red Bulls last year, going without a single win for the first time since joining Formula One despite finishing on the podium a total of nine times. The Mercedes engineers were hard at work attempting to fix an aero issue on Hamilton's W13 for most of the season, and the driver of the No. 44 claims that the bouncing of the car served as a major roadblock between the Brit and finishing first-place. Regardless, last year was Hamilton's first year finishing behind his teammate in the points (Lewis coming in sixth, with George Russell finishing fourth) since the same happened in 2016 with Nico Rosberg. The 2023 season will be a big year for Hamilton if he wants to make another push for the world title, with a championship run only possible if Mercedes is able to provide a car without the previous season's detrimental issues.
