ANALYSIS
Initially, Hammond's spring timetable indicated that Hammond would be out for at least one game. But when Texas Tech's head coach Joey McGuire was asked about the quarterback being available Week 1, his HC answered, "I think he could be, I really do." There are just under two months before the 2026 Red Raiders begin their regular season Sept. 5 against Abilene Christian, with both him and his team hoping that his updated timetable will include sufficient time.
