2024 Fantasy Outlook
The tight end position in Penn State's offense has proven to be fruitful year in and year out, and the same held true in 2024, with Warren and Theo Johnson combining for 68 catches 763 yards and 14 touchdowns a season ago. Johnson has departed for the NFL, leaving Warren as the clear lead dog in the tight end room. That could mean more work for the senior tight end in his final college campaign, hence his placement as a TE1 in most fantasy formats. Both Drew Allar and Beau Pribula return under center, and the wide receiver room doesn't sport any proven stars atop the depth chart and last year's top option, Keandre Lambert-Smith, transferred to Auburn. So, all signs point to Warren having a major impact in Penn State's passing attack during 2024. Read Past Outlooks
Ties FBS record with 17 catches
Warren hauled in 17 of 20 targets for 224 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 33-30 overtime victory against USC. He also logged one rush for four yards and completed his lone passing attempt for nine yards.
ANALYSIS
Warren put up a historic performance in this instant classic for the new-look Big Ten, tying the FBS record for most catches in a game by a tight end. The 6-foot-6 senior did everything and lined up everywhere for the Penn State offense. This was on full display during his touchdown play, as Warren lined up at center and snapped the ball to backup quarterback Beau Pribula who lateralled to starting quarterback Drew Allar, who then hit Warren in the end zone for a 32-yard touchdown. He also had a two-yard touchdown catch on Penn State's opening offensive series, but this score was wiped off the board by an offensive penalty. The swiss-army-knife tight end also logged both a rushing and passing attempt. Meanwhile, wideout Harrison Wallace was the only other Nittany Lions player to log more than five targets. Warren had never recorded double-digit receptions in a game coming into Saturday's win, but it's clear that he'll be featured as much as any tight end in college football moving forward.
