Davis's new status for the fall likely indicates he will sit out Mississippi State's 2024 season. This update is unwelcome news for the Aggies, whose 2023 campaign included him significantly contributing to their running game with almost 60 carries for over 350 yards. Ideally for Davis and Mississippi State, he can recover relatively quickly, perhaps in time to play at least some of the Aggies' upcoming season. In the meantime, MSU's running game will be restricted to Davon Booth, Jeffery Pittman and Keyvone Lee.
