College career comes to end
A Tennessee judge denied Aguilar's request for a preliminary injunction to play for the Volunteers in 2026, ending his collegiate career, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After filing a lawsuit Jan. 30 in pursuit of a sixth season of eligibility in 2026, Aguilar was granted a temporary restraining order shortly thereafter while he waited for the injunction hearing on his case. Though Aguilar's attorneys argued that the two seasons he played in junior college shouldn't count toward his four seasons of eligibility at the Division I level, chancery Christopher D. Heagerty ultimately turned down the quarterback's request. Aguilar is now expected to turn his attention to the professional ranks and take part in the NFL Scouting Combine next week. After making the jump up from the JuCo ranks, the signal-caller was a two-year starter for Appalachian State before transferring to Tennessee ahead of the 2025 campaign. He enjoyed a productive campaign while guiding the Volunteers to an 8-5 record, completing 66.8 percent of his passes for 3,444 yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while adding 101 yards and four scores on the ground.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Aguilar entered 2023 as a bit of an unknown commodity under center, but that didn't last long. Through three weeks, he sported a 9:2 TD:INT ratio, and he finished the season averaging 297.8 passing yards per game over the last five contests, posting a 17:4 TD:INT ratio over that span. He's also proven to be a capable runner, amassing 249 rushing yards and a trio of touchdowns on the ground. Star receiver Kaedin Robinson remains in tow for 2024, as does No. 2 option Christian Horn and tight end Eli Wilson, giving Aguilar all the tools he needs to repeat or even surpass his output from a season ago.
