Holstein was finally held in check against California. The quarterback's yardage total (141), completion percentage (50.0) touchdown passes (0) and interceptions (2) were all his worst marks of the season thus far. In fact, this was the first game in 2024 in which he didn't throw for three touchdowns. Still, he managed to lead Pitt to the win and the Panthers are 6-0 for the first time in over 40 years. Holstein will look to get back to his usual big-time passing stats against Syracuse.
