Easton Messer

Messer closed out his 2024 season with his best career campaign to date, racking up 55 grabs for 793 yards and four touchdowns with Western Kentucky. While he never officially played under Zach Kittley, Kittley may have had a hand in recruiting Messer to WKU before leaving for the Texas Tech offensive coordinator gig before the 2022 campaign. The pair will unite in Boca Raton this fall as part of an offense that should remain similar to what the Hilltoppers ran in 2021, when Bailey Zappe threw the rock a whopping 687 times over 14 games. Caden Veltkamp, who also joined the Owls this offseason via the transfer portal from WKU, is set to claim the starting job under center. Messer's familiarity with Veltcamp should pay dividends, and Messer is expected to be the top target in that offense, making him a highly attractive fantasy option for the 2025 campaign. The primary question surrounds how many times Messer can reach pay dirt, but he should surpass last season's marks by a significant margin and could be an elite fantasy prospect in this offense.
