2025 Fantasy Outlook
Claiborne is likely the best player on Wake Forest's offense, which should be music to fantasy managers' ears. The tailback is coming off a career year in which he ran for 1,049 yards and 11 touchdowns on 4.6 yards-per-carry, while also catching 23 passes for 254 yards and a score. He has elite speed and should be the offensive focal point in Winston-Salem this fall, even with a fresh regime in town in the form of new head coach Jake Dickert and offensive coordinator Rob Ezell. Wake Forest figures to rely on its running game plenty this season, which means a ton of carries for Claiborne, but also his returning backup, Tate Carney, are on tap. The Demon Deacons also have a solid, experienced offensive line this year. Ultimately, Claiborne should once again be a workhorse back in 2025 and has a chance to top the numbers from his career year last season. Read Past Outlooks
Skipping out on bowl game
Claiborne announced Monday that he will sit out Wake Forest's Jan. 2 Mayo Bowl matchup with Mississippi State while he begins preparations for the 2026 NFL Draft, Conor O'Neill of Rivals.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Claiborne declared for the draft, it was already a foregone conclusion that he was bound for the professional ranks since he didn't have any eligibility remaining heading into 2026. Now that he's elected to sit out the upcoming bowl game, he'll finish up his four-year Wake Forest career as the No. 4 rusher in program history after accruing 2,599 yards on the ground. As a senior, Claiborne earned Second Team All-ACC honors after carrying 179 times for 907 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 28 receptions for 140 yards on 39 targets.
