2025 Fantasy Outlook
Taylor missed the second half of the 2023 campaign due to injury, and things didn't start well, with the star back missing the opener due to a hamstring injury. Fortunately, that was the only contest Taylor missed in 2024, and he went on to log 205 carries for 986 yards and 10 touchdowns over the remaining 11 regular-season games plus the bowl game, also proving to be a weapon as a receiver with 54 grabs for 350 yards and a pair of scores. The Gophers utilized the portal to add some depth to the backfield this offseason in the form of A.J. Turner from Marshall, but the backfield should belong to Taylor until further notice. Max Brosmer was a pleasant surprise under center for Minnesota last season, but he's gone, and Drake Lindsey is a bit of a question mark as well, so it wouldn't be shocking to see a heavier lean on Taylor and the running back room. Look for Taylor to deliver a top-notch running back campaign again this year. Read Past Outlooks
Focusing on ways to stay healthy
Taylor has made changes to his offseason routine as he looks to remain fully healthy throughout the 2026 season, something he has yet to do in his career, per Ryan Burns of 247Sports.
ANALYSIS
Taylor has reportedly hired a chef and begun doing pilates. He's also spending more time with the Gophers' athletic trainer as he gears up for his senior season. Taylor has been a tremendous tailback in Minneapolis, but he's had problems staying on the field. His freshman season, he played in just six games. As a sophomore, he missed the opener. Last fall, he played in 10 games. He'll be the Gophers' unquestioned top tailback once again in 2026, and with a renewed focus on staying healthy, he could be primed for his best season yet.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Taylor was poised for a massive year in his freshman season and still was a dominant force on the ground through only six games as he battled with an injury. The 6-foot running back rushed 138 times for 799 yards and five touchdowns, paving the way for Jordan Nubin to get the primary workload when Taylor was injured. As long as Taylor can stay healthy in 2024, he should be poised for the lead role in the backfield and plenty of opportunities as the Gophers' passing game remains questionable, especially as transfer quarterback Max Brosmer, the frontrunner, has not played at the FBS level yet in his career. The rushing game should be relied on heavily, and Taylor is the key to getting yardage when completing passes may be a problem.
