Matt Smith Injury: Breaks leg in spring

Smith broke his leg during Sam Houston's spring practice, Ben Sorrels of Sports of SHSU (via the G5 Hive) reports.

Though not expected to play a big role in 2026, Smith was one to watch for the season, though said outlook may be in jeopardy now that he is out injured. There is still time for him to recover, but fall may be a little too quick for the tight end to enter the beginning of next season healthy.
