Layne (elbow) is inactive for New Mexico's spring game Saturday, per Sean Reider of the Albuquerque Journal.

Layne remains sidelined, as he continues to recover from a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. He will look to be at full health in time for the regular season, as he is once again expected to serve as the team's starting quarterback.
