With Stevie Scott sidelined once again due to his hamstring injury, Theis took on lead-back duties and outpaced rookie backfield mate Shomari Lawrence by 16 carries. The second-year pro did plenty with his opportunities, setting a new single-game career high in both rush attempts and rushing yards while doing the same with both his reception and receiving yardage totals. Theis also scored his first touchdown of the season on a five-yard run in the latter portion of the second quarter, and he demonstrated he was capable of handling a high-volume workload despite being used exclusively in a complementary role up to this point in his career. Theis may well have earned himself a bigger role moving forward irrespective of Scott's status, and he'll next take aim at the Redblacks in a Week 4 home matchup on Sunday, June 28.
