2024 Tournament PreviewWith top-21 rankings in NET and KenPom, the Aztecs hope to replicate last year's improbable run to the national championship game, despite losing three key starters. Jaedon LeDee (21.1 ppg, 8.4 rpg) and Micah Parrish (9.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg) have flourished in starting roles after coming off the bench last year. The offense runs through the 6-9 LeDee, who has 12 double-doubles, but the team's identity is again defense under coach Brian Dutcher. San Diego State ranks ninth nationally in defensive efficiency (per KenPom), in addition to a top-20 ranking in opponent 3-point shooting percentage. Offensively, SDSU struggles from distance - 307th in the nation - with 6-6 guard Reese Waters the only threat at 36.9 percent. The Aztecs have quality non-conference wins against Saint Mary's and Gonzaga and only one loss outside Quad 1. Another Final Four run can't be ruled out, especially with a game-changer like LeDee, who can test even the elite centers.
