2026 Tournament PreviewHoward is back in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons after winning both regular season and tournament championships in the MEAC, riding an 8-game winning streak into the dance. The Bison are just outside the top-200 in both KenPom and the NET ratings, but they at least challenged themselves in non-conference play, hitting the road to play Duke (a 37-point loss) and picking up a Quad 2 win over UNC-Wilmington. Otherwise, 22 of their 32 games came in Quad 4, where the Bison have six losses. They key has been junior center Cedric Taylor (17.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg), who missed the first 11 games of the year but provided an immediate boost after instantly earning a starting spot. He joins Bryce Harris (17.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg) and two other double-digit scorers for an offense that ranks 283rd in KenPom's efficiency mark. Part of the problems is turnovers, as the Bison have a bottom-25 offensive turnover rate. They make up for it on defense with top;-20 marks in defensive turnover rate and opponent three-point shooting, but it likely won't be enough to get too optimistic about their outlook, provided they get past the play-in game.
