2024 Tournament PreviewAfter falling a game short a season ago, Grambling is finally in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. No surprise given their metrics (267 KenPom, 279 NET), the Tigers landed a 16-seed play-in game. The low rankings are due largely to a whopping six Quad 4 losses (plus two more in Quad 3). At least Grambling tested itself, playing (and losing) six Quad 1 games, almost entirely against NCAA Tournament teams. The Tigers struggle offensively, ranking 298th in efficiency (per KenPom), and fail to protect the ball with one of the highest turnover rates in the country -- 341st. When things are clicking, though, it's due leading scorer Kintavious Dozier (13.1 ppg), 6-5 Antwan Burnett (10.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg) and senior Tra'Michael Moton (11.8 ppg), who shoots 37.1 percent from 3-point range. The Tigers will need all that and more to get by Montana State.
