Just before the 2025-26 season, Wallace suffered a gruesome injury, which not only resulted in surgery less than one week later but also prematurely concluded his campaign before it could begin. Fast-forward to the next offseason, and Wallace has said he is feeling healthy, though more assurance will be required on his health. At the very least, there is still plenty of time before Arizona State's 2026-27 season starts, so his recovery process can remain slow and steady just as long as it is gradual.
