Kentucky head coach Mark Pope said Monday that Quaintance (knee) is making progress but isn't expected to be ready in time to face Santa Clara on Friday in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, Jeff Drummond of Rivals.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Pope said that he doesn't think Quaintance will be able to "cross the line before this weekend," which all but ensures the star center will be sidelined for the Wildcats' First-Round game, and possibly beyond. Quaintance has played in just four games this season and hasn't taken the court since Jan. 7 due to a right knee injury. We'll know Quaintance's availability for certain when Kentucky releases its official injury report Thursday night.
