Washington carved out a role early in the year, averaging 15.9 mpg off the bench through the season's first 21 games. Since then, he's only played in three of a possible 11 games, logging 14 total minutes in those contests. He's been battling an undisclosed injury, but was left off of the injury report for the C-USA tournament, meaning he was presumably available. It's possible coach Antoine Pettway was just taking a conservative approach with his banged-up freshman, though it could also be a symptom of the rotation tightening up for the postseason. It remains to be seen if Washington will be utilized in a depth role when the Owls take the court in the NCAA Tournament.
