2025 Fantasy Outlook
It took only five games for Missi to become a regular starter during his rookie season. As a starter, the 2024 No. 21 overall pick averaged 9.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks in 27.3 minutes per game (67 appearances). He attempted only one three-pointer the entire campaign and was poor at the free-throw line (62.3 percent on 2.8 attempts per game). The Pelicans added some frontcourt depth this season, signing veteran center Kevon Looney to a two-year contract and undrafted rookie Hunter Dickinson to a two-way deal. Karlo Matkovic is also still around, and lottery pick Derik Queen could play some small-ball five. However, it's still Missi's job to lose. Despite all the playing time in Year 1, the Pelicans asked the youngster to play in Summer League again. He posted a pair of double-doubles before being shut down with a minor ankle injury. Missi has top-100 upside in points leagues, but his value takes a hit in category leagues due to his work at the charity stripe. Read Past Outlooks

2024 Fantasy Outlook
The No. 21 pick out of Baylor, Missi has a chance to start right out of the gate as a rookie. Jonas Valanciunas left for Washington in free agency, opening up a huge hole in New Orleans' frontcourt. While Zion Williamson and Herbert Jones may play some small-ball five at times, the Pelicans will need one of their centers to step up if they hope to make a postseason run. Trey Jemison was claimed off waivers this offseason and provided a spark to the injury-riddled Grizzlies late last season. Daniel Theis is another new addition, but it's unclear how many minutes the veteran will be able to play on a nightly basis. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl returns for a second season in New Orleans but averaged only 8.6 minutes across 39 appearances last season. Karlo Matkovic, a draft-and-stash pick from the 2022 NBA Draft, is also in the picture after joining the Pelicans' G League affiliate late in the 2023-24 season and participating in the 2024 Vegas Summer League. That's the extent of Missi's competition for playing time. Obviously, New Orleans will be in the market for frontcourt options as the season moves along, but it appears like Missi has a great opportunity to earn a substantial role. Missi's rim-protecting ability was on display during Summer League, but he's a very raw offensive player.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Indiana wanted him
The Pacers expressed interest in trading for Missi before the Feb. 5 deadline, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
ANALYSIS
The Pacers were keen on adding a center before the Feb. 5 deadline, and while they accomplished that goal by completing a trade with the Clippers to acquire Ivica Zubac, they also kept close tabs on other options. Missi, who was a trade target for several teams before the deadline, was reportedly an option, but it seems the talks didn't progress. Missi is still in New Orleans, but it wouldn't be surprising if the Pelicans decided to trade him during the summer.
