Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Sandro Mamukelashvili was born in New York in May of 1999. As a baby, his family moved to Tbilisi, Georgia and he lived there until he was 14. His grandmother, Ira Gabashvili, was one of the captains for the Soviet Union's women's national basketball team, but it was his older brother David who introduced Mamukelashvili to basketball at a young age. Mamukelashvili moved to Biella, Italy at age 14 where he attended high school. In Italy, he competed for the U17, U18, and U19 teams, leading them to place third in the national finals. In 2016, Mamukelashvili moved back to the United States to play for high-school-basketball-powerhouse Montverde Academy in Florida with future NBA star RJ Barrett. There Mamukelashvili was mentored by longtime-idol Zaza Pachulia, and he helped lead Monteverde Academy to the DICK'S Sporting Goods High School Nationals Final. Mamukelashvili continued his basketball career at Seton Hall. As a senior, he averaged 17.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.1 steals, and was awarded the Big East co-player of the Year and the Haggerty Award (best player in the New York metropolitan area). Mamukelashvili was drafted with the 54th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers, but was quickly traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Diminished role in Game 7
CToronto Raptors
May 4, 2026
Mamukelashvili closed Sunday's 114-102 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with six points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT) in nine minutes.
ANALYSIS
While his minutes began to dip during the playoffs, Mamukelashvili was a pretty big part of Toronto's rotation earlier this year. Over 80 regular-season appearances (13 starts), the fifth-year big man averaged 11.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 21.9 minutes per game. Mamukelashvili has a player option for 2026-27, and it remains to be seen if he'll settle for that or opt to explore free agency.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2021
Following a midseason trade from Milwaukee to San Antonio, Mamukelashvili assumed a larger role for the tanking Spurs. He played 19 games down the stretch, compiling intriguing averages of 10.8 points and 6.8 rebounds to go with 1.1 three-pointers. He scored double-digits on 11 occasions, making the most of a favorable situation. Heading into the 2023-24 campaign, Mamukelashvili is likely to see his role reduced, thanks largely to the addition of Victor Wembanyama. Along with Charles Bassey, the pair should battle it out for backup minutes. Both have an element of upside to their games, although Bassey is probably the frontrunner when it comes to being the priority off the bench. Mamukelashvili is not worth drafting but could once again have some sneaky streaming value down the stretch, should the Spurs opt to throw in the towel.
Mamukelashvili was selected by the Bucks with the 54th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, and he signed a two-way deal. Mamukelashvili improved every season while at Seton Hall before averaging 17.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 35.5 minutes per game during his final college season. The 6-foot-11 forward can play multiple positions and shot 43.4 percent from the field, 33.6 percent from three and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line in 2020-21. In signing a two-way deal, he's slated to spend most of next season in the G League.
