2025 Fantasy Outlook
From a fantasy perspective, Gobert is arguably coming off his worst campaign since his rookie year. While he remained incredibly efficient from the field (66.9 FG%), his shot attempts decreased, and he averaged just 12.0 points per game. He also averaged fewer rebounds (10.9) and blocks (1.4) than in prior seasons, which contributed to an overall decline in fantasy value. Heading into his age-33 season, Gobert's best years are behind him. He still has a relatively high floor given his length and general skillset, but he's no longer among the elite role centers in fantasy basketball - now being thrown into a group of bigs like Jakob Poeltl, Nic Claxton, Jalen Duren, Jarrett Allen and others who feel somewhat interchangeable. Gobert is probably best as a second center in fantasy after drafting an elite big or taking a chance on a younger one with upside. Read Past Outlooks
Lays goose egg in Game 6 loss
Gobert registered zero points (0-4 FG) and three rebounds over 22 minutes during Friday's 139-109 loss to the Spurs in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
ANALYSIS
Gobert struggled mightily during Friday's loss, failing to score for the first time this postseason while playing just 22 minutes. It was a disappointing end to the 2025-26 campaign for Gobert, who finished the regular season averaging 10.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 blocks over 31.3 minutes per game. The veteran center is slated to make $36.5 million in 2026-27, though it's possible the Timberwolves reshape the roster around Anthony Edwards this offseason by moving Gobert, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

After a subpar first season in Minnesota, Gobert stepped things up in Year 2 and was a key piece in Minnesota's run to the Western Conference Finals. He averaged 14.0 points, 12.9 rebounds (second-most in the NBA) and 2.1 blocks per game while shooting 66.1 percent from the field and 63.8 percent from the charity stripe across 76 regular-season appearances. The field-goal percentage, rebounds and blocks once again overshadowed his poor free-throw shooting, and Gobert finished 38th in eight-category leagues -- a major bounce back from a 68th-place finish in 2022-23. Barring a major injury, it's difficult to envision Gobert not returning top-50 value in most leagues again, as he's finished inside the top 40 of eight-cat leagues in seven of his past 10 campaigns. Karl-Anthony Towns has been replaced by Julius Randle, and Naz Reid seems content with a bench role after winning Sixth Man of the Year, so Gobert's role should be steady while playing for a contender again. While Gobert is a safe pick, there's no reason for fantasy managers to reach inside the top 40 given his limited upside.

Steps up in Game 2
Gobert used his Defensive Player of the Year snub as motivation, delivering a dominant defensive performance in Game 2 against the Nuggets on Monday, ESPN's Anthony Slater reports.
ANALYSIS
Gobert, who finished fourth in voting, held Nikola Jokic to just 1-of-8 shooting while defending him, making a strong statement after being left off the finalist list. Gobert downplayed it with sarcasm postgame but made it clear he felt disrespected, using that slight as fuel to anchor Minnesota's defense at a high level to level the series at one win apiece.
