2025 Fantasy Outlook
From Feb. 12 through April 7, Grimes averaged 23.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.7 steals in 34 minutes per game while posting 49/40/75 shooting splits. He was handed the keys for the first time in his career, as injuries completely overwhelmed the 76ers, who were actively tanking by the end of 2024-25. That won't be the case at the start of 2025-26. With Tyrese Maxey, Paul George and Joel Embiid expected to be healthy, Grimes will have to compete with Jared McCain, VJ Edgecombe and Kelly Oubre for a pair of starting spots. Philadelphia will also have veterans Kyle Lowry and Eric Gordon available for backcourt depth. Even if Grimes carves out a starting role, he won't see nearly as much usage while sharing the court with a trio of All-Stars. That won't completely eliminate his fantasy value, but he'll be hard-pressed to return top-200 value. The perfect storm for Grimes may have won a ton of managers their fantasy championships last season, but when everyone is healthy in Philadelphia, he should be considered nothing more than a three-point specialist. Subdued finish to 2025-26
Grimes posted six points (2-6 FG, 2-5 3Pt) and one block in 16 minutes during Sunday's 144-114 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
ANALYSIS
Following an impressive finish to 2024-25 with Philadelphia, Grimes ended up settling for a one-year deal with the 76ers for 2025-26 and turned in an up-and-down campaign. It remains to be seen if he'll command a multi-year deal ahead of 2026-27, whether it be with Philadelphia or elsewhere. Over 75 regular-season games, Grimes averaged 13.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in 29.4 minutes per tilt.

Tom Thibodeau is notorious for giving players he loves massive minutes, and that was certainly the case for Grimes last year. The rookie played just 29.9 minutes a night during the regular season but played 42 and 48 minutes in two of this team's final three playoff games. Seeing a sophomore play a full 48 minutes is absurd, but it's less surprising when you see his 37-minute average over the final three weeks of the regular season. That would usually have us ecstatic about his fantasy value in his third year, but the signing of Donte DiVincenzo is discouraging. These two play the same position, and it seems unlikely Grimes plays more than 30 minutes unless there are some injuries in this rotation. It's not like the fantasy profile is glowing either, averaging 11.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.7 steals and 2.2 threes on 46.8 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from three-point range. He's one of the better shooters in the NBA, but his role is going in the wrong direction. He wasn't even a significant part of this offense before, with Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, Josh Hart and R.J. Barrett asked to do so much. All of that should have Grimes going undrafted in most fantasy formats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Set to hit open market
Grimes' future is in the air with the guard set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer, Adam Aaronson of Philly Voice reports.
ANALYSIS
While his playoff performance was largely average with a few strong flashes, it didn't significantly move his market either way, Aaronson notes. With Jared McCain no longer in the picture, Grimes becomes a more important potential retention for Philadelphia as a two-way third guard, even though he's not viewed as irreplaceable. The 76ers have already signaled interest in keeping him, with front office leadership calling him a strong fit alongside their guard group and hoping to reach a new deal.
