Micah Peavy is a 6'8", 220-pound guard/forward from Cibolo, Texas, who played his graduate season at Georgetown University after previous stints at Texas Tech and TCU. In the 2024-25 season, Peavy averaged 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game, while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and an impressive 40.0 percent from three-point range on 4.1 attempts per game. His standout performance earned him First-Team All-Big East honors. Peavy is a versatile, athletic wing known for his defense and improved offensive game. Defensively, he excels with his length and anticipation, averaging 2.3 steals per game in his final season. Offensively, Peavy made significant strides, particularly in his perimeter shooting. After shooting 31.0 percent from three-point range in the 2023-24 season at TCU, he improved to 40.0 percent at Georgetown, demonstrating enhanced confidence and mechanics. Peavy projects as a 3-and-D wing at the NBA level, capable of contributing off the bench with his defensive versatility and improved shooting. ANALYSIS
Peavy turned in the best game of his young career, setting season-high marks in points, threes, rebounds and steals. With Zion Williamson exiting early due to illness, it was Peavy who filled the void. While this performance should probably be viewed as nothing more than an outlier, it wouldn't be surprising to see him step into a larger role down the stretch if and when New Orleans opts to throw in the towel.

"I thought he came out and gave us great energy," coach James Borrego said Monday after the rookie second-rounder put up 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting. "Crashing the boards. Defensively, he really impacted that game. So I'm really proud of him. He responded tonight, and that was a bright spot, for sure." Peavy is averaging 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 20.5 minutes per contest over his last two games, and with the team in need of a spark, he'll be worth monitoring going forward.
