Pushing for spot in rotation
Waters could move into the starting lineup Wednesday against the Pelicans, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old forward was in the starting five to begin the second half Tuesday against the Pelicans, helping the Warriors take control of the game after overcoming an early deficit, and Waters could keep that spot in the rematch Wednesday. "From day one of camp, this guy has been one of our best players, frankly," coach Steve Kerr said after Tuesday's win. Waters barely got off the bench during Golden State's first three games of the season, but in 31 minutes Tuesday he erupted for 21 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three made three-pointers and a steal. He could have a prominent role in the rotation while Andrew Wiggins is sidelined by back trouble.
