Kyle Guy

Kyle Guy is the son of Katy and Tim Fitzgerald (mother and stepfather) and Joe and Amy Guy (father and stepmother). He was born in 1997 in Indianapolis and has three brothers and two sisters. His father, Joe, played football and participated in track at the University of Cincinnati. Kyle's great grandfather served as commissioner of the Indiana High School Athletic Association and was inducted into both the basketball and football Indiana High School halls of fame. For his preparatory school days, Kyle attended Lawrence Central High School in Lawrence, Indiana. After his senior season (2015-16), Guy was named a McDonald's All-American and Indiana's Mr. Basketball. At the University of Virginia, Guy majored in American Studies. As a freshman (2016-17), he started seven of 34 games and scored 7.5 points while shooting 49.5 percent from the field. As a sophomore, Guy helped lead Virginia to the ACC Tournament title and was named the tournament MVP. The sharpshooting guard scored a season-high 29 points in a win over VCU on Nov. 17, 2017. The Virginia guard was an All-American third team player in both 2018 and as a junior in 2019. The Indianapolis native also garnered All ACC First Team honors in '18 and '19. Guy had an extremely productive junior season (2018-19). He averaged 15.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.1 three-pointers per game. He led the ACC in three-pointers (120) and second in the conference in three-point percentage (42.5 percent). The Indiana native recorded his first collegiate double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds on Mar. 30, 2019 against Purdue in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, helping the Cavs advance to the Final Four. He scored 24 points in the NCAA title game over Texas Tech, was named the 2019 NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player and helped lead Virginia to the 2019 NCAA Tournament Championship. After delivering Wahoo fans a championship as a junior, Guy entered the 2019 NBA Draft.
